Economic democracy is born when local and regional communities take an active role in the decision-making process to keep the rules and institutions that manage our resources accountable to everyone. EDA extends the meaning and practice of economic democracy to encompass the sustainability of Earth’s resources for all people for centuries to come.
This is the definition of economic democracy that is embodied in our Cooperative Charter.
The development of our Charter involved a powerful collaborative process that took place for nearly a year until our June 2018 Convention in Philadelphia.
